Real Edinburgh Christmas pt1
So here it is, Edinburgh Christmas, everybody’s having fun, looking to the future and it’s only just begun…
I’m terribly sorry, came over all Noddy Holder there. Must have been the influence of the Edinburgh Winter Wonderland this afternoon. Welcome to part 1 of the bumper Christmas Special that will no doubt span the whole of December in one form or another.
Let’s get the big wheel out the way first shall we? It’a a photographer magnet every year, but there will be no bus going past it long exposurey type shots this year with the road in front being pedestrianised.
It’s a real challenge shooting this stuff handheld, in the cold keeping one eye on the security monkeys who have form for hassling photographers in the past.
The wheel sits right next to the Scott Monument, the old and the historic next to M&D’s best tackyness.
The Chair-o-planes were popular but by god, the screaming coming from people on it, why go on it if you have to scream the entire time? It’s not exactly Alton Towers now is it.
I wasn’t the only photographer out tonight, in fact the place was literally dripping with photographers, as it no doubt will be all the time it’s here.
The creepy horse Carousel entrance.
Food is popular at the markets, as it seemed was the mulled wine stalls but more of that later, this gent seemed to be enjoying himself at the “Tartan Cafe”
Apologies if the Chritmassy stuff isn’t your thing but there will be a fair bit from here over the next month or so, there’s too much to ignore and people don’t bat an eyelid if you point a camera at them here either. Great fun, for me anyway.
